There are many believers of the concept of alien invasion in 2012. Mostly populated by the modern movies, we have seen so many interactions from the life outside of the earth that influences us in the future. There well may be life away from earth given the fact that we exist in the universe. In fact, we have been looking for aliens or life in space since early 1960s. One of these activities is collectively known as SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence). This is essentially looking for transmissions from other civilizations in the universe assuming they send signals to space. Also, we have been sending signals to space hoping someone replies back. Up-to-date, we have not heard any factorial evidence in the public on transmission exchanges between aliens and us. Some argue governments are keeping this information secret from public. For example, many believe there is evidence of UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects) in Area 51 (a military base in Nevada, USA). UFOs are the alien spacecrafts which we have seen and heard from various individual stories and photographs in the modern day. However, there is no conclusive evidence to factor the UFOs are real. In addition, some believe that our signals may not have yet reached the earth like destinations as they are far away in the universe.
The quests and ideas about aliens dated back to our ancient cultures like Greek, Egypt, Persian, Mayan, Indus and other civilizations. Some even believe that aliens visited here in the past. Some believe that some of us are descendants of aliens. They believe the aliens are the missing link of our evolution. Therefore, there are so many theories revolving around aliens. Scientifically, we may not have exact evidence on earth about aliens. However, we do have glimpse of supporting evidence on our nearby planets via satellites. For example, observers have found tracks that resemble water streams on planet Mars which tells us there may be life on Mars. Similarly, astronauts have found earth like planets such as Gliese 581c and Gliese 581d in the Gliese 581 system which resembles our solar system environment. We have sent messages to Gliese 581d in 2009 which will reach there in 20 years. Therefore, astronauts assume that if we were to hear from them, their message will reach here in 2049 unless they have a faster way to transmit signals. The COROT (by France Space Center) and Kepler (by NASA) missions are two main projects active today to find the life outside of the earth. Now, if the aliens will reach earth in 2012 is a question. Moreover, they will come and invade us is another question. Anything is possible. However, one thing is certain at least in my opinion. There is life somewhere out there in the space. The challenge we face to connect with them mainly relies on the time unless they decided to pay a visit to us.
