Some writings say that when the galactic alignment occurs, there will be sort of a gravitational alignment between the Sun and the black hole at the center of our galaxy known as Sgr A* (Sagittarius A*, pronounced as “A-star”). Essentially, Sgr A* is the most bright spot in the Sgr A (Sagittarius A ) radio source location in the center of the Milky Way which is believe to be the most likely place of the main black hole of our galaxy. Some believe this alignment will lead to unexpected results on the earth during the time of 2012. However, according to astronomy, the Sgr A* is many light years away from the earth, and therefore, it is highly unlikely to have that sort of a gravitational impact unless it is much closer to the earth.
